MEET ANNA…

Hello to all the women of Style and Substance! Welcome to my site. When I started The Total You in 1997, I had the vision to makeover every woman I could. I saw a diamond in every woman, just waiting to emerge and discover her own unique style. I value creating personal and professional presence and totally believe that who you are on the inside is not determined by what you do or look like on the outside. There has to be an alignment- a congruency. When I focused on sharing this vision with especially women, The Total YOU was born! My primary focus was Image Consulting-Wardrobe Styling and Personal Shopping. It’s been a long journey since then.

From being in corporate america for over 20 years to styling television personalities, celebrities, at-home moms, business women transitioning to higher profile positions, first ladies in ministry and hopeful college students landing their first job to shifting focus to the inner person, I now offer Life+Style Design Coaching. My clients are primarily those who desire that congruency- to have a purpose-driven life, navigate the liminal space in transition from who and where they are to who they are becoming, and create the life they want. No matter where they find themselves in the labyrinth of life, it is my passion to help them get on the path designed for them- and YOU! I truly believe that we all have a unique purpose and path-for some, it is circuitous, for others the path is more direct. Regardless, there is a unique pathway designed for each of us.

In 2016, I started coaching school to earn my certification. After a year and a half, I decided to hang out my shingle as a full- time coach. Image Consulting is still one of my passions, but this is truly part of my purpose, as well. In the desire to further my studies and gain more credibility in this coach-rich world, I recently received my ACC credential- Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. I offer individual and group coaching sessions.

In 2020, I completed my certification as a Liminal Space Guide. Sounds strange, but I help people determine what’s next in life. Navigating the in-between times of life takes courage, perseverance, patience and community, among other things. I am a guiding light you find your way.

I have enjoyed being a speaker, stylist, life coach, consultant, and trainer. It speaks to who I am.

I have also enjoyed serving as a weekly columnist for the Nashville Pride magazine and writing articles for the Image Networker and Image Update publications.  Years ago, I was featured in the Business Section of The Tennessean, highlighting my commitment to helping others improve their personal and professional image.  I was asked to be a contributing image consultant in the Fashion Section of The Tennessean Women’s Magazine. My television and radio appearances have included News Channel 5’s “Talk of The Town”, Trinity Broadcast Network’s (TBN) “Praise the Lord” show, WNAH Radio 1360 and WHTN’s Bridges with Monica Schmelter.  I was noted in two concurrent issues of the Nashville Woman magazine as the featured business owner for the Women’s Resource Center (now Pathways Women’s Center) in Nashville.  I was the featured entrepreneur in the Bank of America Small Business Resource Center newsletter.  What a journey!

Proud to be an HBCU alumna, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Spelman College and a Master of Business Administration degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, Costa Mesa, CA Campus.

I also love volunteering in my community and giving back. I have served as local Vice President for the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) Tennessee Chapter, a volunteer for the YWCA Dress for Success program, and an INROADS/Nashville Alumna.  I am a global member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), the gold standard and leading global organization for coaches, and a board co-chair with the Tennessee Chapter of the International Coach Federation. I am certified at the ACC level (Associate Certified Coach) and a certified Liminal Space Guide with inaliminalspace.org

I am a past board member for Bridges for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, President of the Vanderbilt Woman’s Club, President -Elect for the International Coach Federation Tennessee Chapter, and a volunteer Executive Council Member, Diversity Lead for the State of Tennessee and Team Lead for AARPTN. I have served in various capacities at my church, Born Again, in various capacities, including women’s conference speaker, women’s ministry program director, administrator, and sign language interpreter. I recently added another passion to my life-chandler! Check out my AnnaWCouture page for more on that.

I am a native of Nashville, Tennessee.
